About 70 km from Agra on a sweeping bend of the Yamuna, Bateshwar is a chain of 101 riverside temples dedicated chiefly to Lord Shiva (Bateshwarnath Mahadev), whitewashed ghats mirrored in the river. The month-long Bateshwar Fair around Kartik Purnima (October–November) combines one of North India’s largest cattle fairs with ritual bathing and folk performances. Bateshwar is also the ancestral village of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and the Jain tirth of Shauripur, associated with Bhagwan Neminath, lies nearby.
Timings: Temples open daily, morning to evening
Weekly closure / special viewing: Open all days; the annual fair is held around Kartik Purnima.

How to reach: About 70 km south-east of Agra via Fatehabad–Bah road (NH-509); best visited by taxi or during the fair by special UPSRTC services. Can be combined with the Chambal Safari at Nandgawan/Jarar.
Facilities & visitor tips: Basic facilities in Bah town; district administration makes special arrangements during the fair.

- ADA toll: Foreign visitors additionally pay a ₹500 ADA pathkar (toll), valid the same day across Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s Tomb and Itimad-ud-Daulah; it is not levied on Fridays.
